I am pretty sure that mintmarks on the 1950 era coins were all over the place.

Don't see what you are pointing out on this one? Looks like a polished die leaving die scratches on the coins.

I'm with Coop here. I have no idea what you are seeing on this coin that makes it any different from thousands of other 1956D cents I've seen. I'm confused here.
