the old saying, "Better late than never", sure comes to mind, when I check to see if there is anyone left here "at home", but me.
It is still "alive, and well", so let's take advantage of it. Even if politics Religion, and women, come and go, as the topic of the day, we can always talk about copper coins, even if they are not US cents. There is a sub-forum that allows this to be.
What Mike, and Chuck, Coop, and others know, and have shared, means a lot to many of us who got into collecting late, fro whart ever reason.
In my researching the die marriages of the 1859N9 Canadian Large cents, has made a vrery deep impression on me, and I am sure there are many of you "lessor experienced" who have wondered about coins you have, and how come they have all those "strange markings" on them.
Maybe there is a way to find out.
I might be able to help. No guarantee, but I'll try.
See you here!

Hi Ken!
Yes, it is one of the sites, that i have had eht privilrge to be a member of, and although I do little in the lincoln cents, these days, it is one of the places i enjoy the ,ost. The friends I met here, and what I have learned here, will always be "fond memories".
I still do the Canadian large cents, and have a "living, and breathing site, (online catalog), that is still developing, and to me, has been an inspiration to keep doing what I was not able to do with the basics of this site: die research. My vision continues to deteriorate, and it is getting harder to see many details. I have special equipment, that has helped greatly, and I owe my thanks to the VA, for that.
Once the "lights are turned out, I won't have much will to live. I can't stand just sitting and doing nothing. Before, I was able to drive, and could get out of the house at will. Not any more. Many things I could do, now are not possible, because I have no depth perception, and it is only a guess what, or where the hammer might hit. I don't want my fingers to be the place it falls!
How has the weather treated you? It is HOT, and has been HOTTER than Hades!
When it comes time forme to cash in my chips, I will enjoy the nicer weather! LOL
Take care, my friend. It is always nicer on the other side of the fence.
Dick

I was also back reading some old posts. Some great info here!
Dick, your post reminded me of a photo you posted long ago. I think it was your "rig" with a bicycle or tricycle towing a wagon.
Hope things are going good for you.

Yes, if posting helps, Im here. I have a few coppers with questions but no pics to post at the moment.
I appreciate Chuck's extra effort here with keeping it going, and like to be able to get the time to visit with all the people who have helped me in the past.

Phil, I'll bet, that if you posted one, it would get an answer.
There are several that check the site quite often, and could give an answer. most are just "lurking", now.
I have been a member of LCR for years, but never was comfortable, navigating there, so I am just a "lurker' there. Once in a "blue moon", I post, but like well known Hamburger stand, I am "in and out".

Hi Ed! Yes it is the "old fart", taking the wife "shopping". Being some-what handicapped with my vision, I can only do what I think I might get away with!It looks like some of the old "gang' are drifting back home again. I hope so. it is one of the best sites around, and the info here is well documented. Lots of very nice friends, too!
