Ive been following the story about the controversy over the California quarter. I think Arnold in his "infinite wisdom" realized that a single theme design is better than the "kitchen sink" approach used by Florida and South Carolina. So the design chosen is about the Sierra Club. Does anyone outside California really care what the Sierra Club is? If the disgruntled designer of the prospector had drawn his design to scale then maybe there wouldnt have been an issue. Instead he draws a prospector and a full size tree not to scale and a bear, of all things. How is this for an idea: a prospector mining for gold next to a tree and the prospector is attacked by a bear. If that was all drawn to scale, I would have voted for it!

I hadn't heard about that fiasco Garry. I would love to see where this goes. Maybe the finalized coin will be the prospector getting eaten by the bear while leaning against the tree Laughing
