I bought a Nikon Coolpix 5200 back in November, and to my dismay, I was unable to use it for microscope photos. I couldn't hold it steady enough to take photos through the scope - they came out blurry, dizzy looking.
Two weekends ago I visited with Gene Nichols in Arkansas and found that he uses the same camera for his photos. He used PVC pipe to make an adaptor for his camera that worked great. He was nice enough to make one for me too.
After some adjustment and additional fitting, I now have an adaptor that works perfectly for my camera, and I am now taking 5 megapixel photos for the site (versus 1.2 megapixels with the old camera). The difference is outstanding!
To see the changes look at all the site additions from May on. Once I started using the adaptor and new camera for microphotos, I fell in love with taking shots all over again.
Enjoy!
