Well, It finally happened. After growing up in Boston for 17 years, and living with 'the curse' for so many years, how great it was to see the Red Sox win the World Series! For 48 years I, and coutless others have endured this agony of never getting there, but that hardly compares many others. My father is 84, and finally got to see his team win a world series. I have never heard a man so happy. Even with Altzheimers, he knew what happened last night!
I can't help but gloat a little bit. I have been laughed at and ridiculed for years for faithfully following my teams. Through both the good times, and the bad, I have never rooted for anyone else. How ironic it is to have the Super Bowl Champion Patriots, and the World Series Champions Red Sox both do their thing in the same year? Boston is a great City. How I wish I could join the other millions of fans this Saturday for their well deserved parade from Fenway Park to City Hall. Well Done Red Sox!!

Well, since I'm from the metro St. Louis area, I was dismayed to watch our team fold so miserably in the Series. The Sox were one hell of a team and, I too, was glad they won after eliminating those darn Yankees. Losing to the Yankees like we did would have been 10x worse.

As a Met fan perhaps I feel guilty over 1986.

Bob,
All we need now is for the Celtics to come back to life. I loved living in Boston in the 1980's with the Bird, McHale, Parish years. Almost as exciting as finding a DDO !

I agree John. The Briuns may of had a better chance this year, but the NHL won't be playing. So much for Hockey Fans. The ownership and players seem to be getting a little greedy.
If the Celtics were to win a Chamionship this year, I don't know if the city could take it. As stated above, I am a very happy camper right now. I just might root (just a tiny bit) for the Cubs or White Sox to get to the promise land!
