I bought a bunch of wheats today and while counting them I pulled this out of there.....it weighs 2.6 grams I don't see any tool markings on the edge... here are pics
By looking at the circumference, it sure looks like it has been ground down a bit....As a matter of fact, I'd be willing to bet on it. There are indications (on the rim to the SSE of the date and other small places) where there may have been the ground down metal that has folded over. I would expect a perfectly round coin had it been a foreign planchet. The lack of tooling marks don't mean anything as it could have worn down over time. _________________ Bob Piazza

after closer inspection bob I think I agree with you.....except the foreign planchet part......about it being round...I have owned quite a few off metals.... and have only had one or two out of about 8 that was perfectly round...they seem to look funny and not always round. just my 2 cents
