I am looking at 1936 cent and the left leg of the "R" in Liberty is more evenly worn (VF condition) than that in the Cherry Pickers guide that shows more like the left side of the left leg being missing for Die # 3. Do all weak or missing left legs of the "R" on 1936 cent indicate its a DDO?

Thanks
WS

There are many 1936 Cents out there with the 'broken leg' of the R in LIBERTY. The three high value doubled die obverses for 1936 were made using a working hub with the broken leg, and a normal hub, thus producing the type of error you see in published materials. (The broken hub was used first, and the subsequent hubbing used another working hub without the broken leg) Not all coins with the broken leg are doubled dies at all. The three DDOs have what appears to be a 'half left leg'. I am not aware of any varieties that have the completly missing left leg.
