N-S die scratches, some very heavy, show all over the obverse. A long die gouge forms a line across the shoulder just above the bust truncation. Concentric die scratch between rim and WE TRUST. Reverse is EMDS.
Reverse
Crossing die scratches in field between left wheat and O in ONE. Small die gouge near S in PLURIBUS. N-S die scratches are scattered throughout the reverse.

Serif mintmark. A nicely punched and moderately spread extra left curve and inside upper serif show on this variety. This variety is slightly closer to the 9 in the date than 1946S-1MM-001.
