N-S die scratches are scattered throughout the obverse. Of note is a heavy one above the 1 in the date, and another that runs through the R in LIBERTY. Another die scratch runs southwest from the B in LIBERTY.

Many profound N-S die scratches show on the entire reverse. Reverse is MDS.

Sans serif mintmark. This is one of a number of repunched mintmarks that can easily be confused with others. It has a well defined but closely spread extra curve in the upper half of the mintmark.
