MDS markers
Obverse
Die scratch running NW from the top of the 1 in the date. Other lighter die scratches run NW from the top of the 9 of the date. SW die scratch under T in LIBERTY. Reverse is MDS
Reverse
N-S die scratches from the top of the N of ONE. A large E-W die gouge shows under the ED of UNITED to the bottom of the S in STATES. Short NNW die scratches from the top of T in CENT.
LDS markers
Obverse
Strong N-S die scratches throughout the obverse. In addition, it appears that this die was struck through grease during this die state. A curving die crack runs NW from the eye brow. Numerous die cracks show on the shoulder.
Reverse
A die break shows on the lower vertical bar of the T in CENT. Numerous die chips on the left wheat. Light die cracks on the right wheat. A heavy die gouge under the D of UNITED to the first S in STATES. Reverse is LDS.
