A die chip shows on the lower curve of the 6 in the date. Reverse is MLDS
Reverse
SE die scratches in area east of motto. Die break on right cornice going down column 12. 2 heavy E/W die gouges in bay 10. Worn E/W die scratches through N in CENT. Worn E/W die scratches through ON in ONE.
LDS markers
Obverse
A die chip shows on the lower curve of the 6 in the date.
Reverse
A die chip shows on the outer upper loop of the S in STATES. Die chips at the bottom of column 12. Die chips and a light crack show on the upper column 12 and up to the right cornice. A small die crack protrudes from the lower right memorial base. Reverse die has been changed since MDS.
