Obverse
Light die scratches protruding from the lower portion of the coat under the date. A die scratch in the field behind the head north of the Y of LIBERTY. A small die chip on the back of the collar.
Reverse
A die crack runs northwest from the top of Lincoln's head. A die chip shows on the edge of the book. Die chips seen on the C and E of CENT. Reverse is MDS.

Formative Years design (LP2): Moderate extra thickness can be seen on LIBERTY with notching also present on the northwest corners of BERTY. Some extra thickness also seen on the beard and date.
