Pocket Change...
1909 cents are rather limited in the number of dies used to create them, so there's a pretty good chance that most, if not all, of the varieties are already known. Recent reports in surrounding years indicates that there is still hope, so be watchful. obverse - There are two listed doubled dies for the obverse of the P mint VDB cents, one of which is well known. There are also a couple of well known RPMs in the S mint plain cents (non VDB). Only three dies are known for the S mint VDB and none of them contain varieties reverse - Be on the look out for a class 6 doubled die reverse on the 1909P plain (non VDB) cents. There is not an abundance of study in the reverse dies that created these cents, so be watchful for pretty much anything.

the proof...
Proofs are rather scarce this year, mintage is very low - finding a proof is hard enough, a proof with a variety would be big news. obverse - No varieties are known for 1909 proof cents. There is, however, some slight chance that a proof could surface and be sold as a normal business strike cent, so be watchful for the mottled appearance of the matte proofs on sharply struck higher grade specimens. reverse - same as for the obverse.
