Chuck and Bob, was just wandering if it would be a good idea to list or have a listing of donation/s (not amount) that have been given to the site for a period of time, say monthly or bi-monthly or something ...

As usual, was just scratching around and didn't notice anything about it, would this be possible, ... may help with the donation/s to the site and it's very hard working staff.

BTW, just made one, thought that this would be a good way to show my appreciation for some of the very dedicated work you guys are doing for all of us.

Regards Wink

95% of the time when someone makes a donation they don't want to be brought up in public for it. I decided it would be best to keep donators private.

Hi Pennyhound & Chuck,

I'd like to throw in my two DDO cents! In my experience using the internet there is no other coin site that matches the quality of the information or the members than Coppercoins. I also know that there is some cost to hosting a web site in addition to the time and effort spent by Chuck, Bob and any others who contribute.

I was thinking it would be fun to have a sponsor of the month. For example, if it cost $100 per month to have the site hosted on a server or whatever the technical description is, then any member who wishes could contribute the $100 and we could have a message that says something like "Coppercoins, sponsored by member Ron Howard this month".

Just an idea similar to yours Pennyhound.

Was just a thought ... if that work's for you, then so be it.

Wink

On another note:

Haven't been posting alot because ... going through some bag/s of cent/s and wanted to let ya know, we still here and do read from time to time.

(That dry spell seems to have hit us all, but we all know, that will change, given time.)

From my perscpective, it is a lot of fun doing the pics and attributions for the site. We also know that you guys realize the highs and lows that can come from this as well. Time, money, and other commitments seem to keep us from doing much more however. I know Chuck and I both appreciate your donations. It definitely helps pay the server fees and the like. Both Chuck, and I, and coop as well, do this because we love the hobby. We ALWAYS appreciate your feedback as well, as it lets us know how we are doing. Please check back on the site often. We are adding varieties on a near daily basis, and the numbers are truly staggering. We are glad you like the site, and find its information helpful. We will continue to carry on.

I think most of the collectors that come here for information would be happy to make a donation from time to time. I know I will.

How do you support this site? I get a lot of help from the people here. I have wondered about this before, and I wouldn’t mind giving a little. It won’t be a hundred dollars because I am disabled. How do you support this site?

Actually, until we had asked for donations, ALL of the money used to build, maintain , and host the site has come from Chuck's own pocket. Not one cent until now was donated or granted. Those of us who do the attributions (Chuck and myself), and take the pictures (Coop, Chuck and myself), have bought all the equipment on our own, and donate our time to edit and post the information without any monetary gain. As I said before, we do it because we love the hobby. But, there comes a time when time and funds are low, hence the request for donations. ANY donation will do. It certainly doesn't have to be a hundred bucks. Just to be able to pay the server fees associated with the site, really helps out immensely. We really do value your opinions and dedication to the site. The little bit we can have donated helps us to get a better product to you with little or no disruptions. Many thanks again!

Bob,
I can see where you can dedicate a lot of time and money to this service, out of a love for the hobby and the excitement of getting a website up and running. But there are 138 people involved now. Not all of them will donate, of course, but many will. But, you still didn’t tell me HOW to donate. Smile
Dennis

That (home page) is one that all of you should really: Place in your: BOOKMARKS as it's the first place that new news will pop up and all the major bookmarks are centrally located (on this page).

Look/s like I was one of the first to come across that little tid bit (donation/s) and glad I did, and post about it, ... glad 'Chuck' suggested the bookmarking ... to me back when ...

Keep up the good work all ...

Thanks again guys! Imahik...I am sorry I didn't leave you the link for donations...I meant to...but as usual. the great folks here hooked me up. I had every intention of linking to the donation site, but I guess I got to rambling on and on as usual.
Once again... to all my collector friends out there., thanks for your support. At this point, we'd be hard pressed to do it without you!

No problem, Bob. Pennyhound hit the nail on the head, (or hit me in the head, lol) my problem was that I have the forum link in my favorites. I go directly to the “forum” page when I go to Coppercoins.com.
Pennyhound, I’m glad you made your post as well. I like this board even better than PCGS’ and would gladly support it.
Dennis
