Specific notes about this year's cents...

  • 1931 cents are generally found well struck with full detail. This is one of the first such years in the Lincoln cent series since the teens.
  • 1931 San Francisco minted cents are the first issue since the famous 1909S VDB cent with a mintage under one million. Because of this these coins are considered one of the key dates of the Lincoln cent series.
  • 1931S cents are often counterfeited. Although the most common form of counterfeiting these coins comes from altering the 6 digit of the date of a 1936S cent into a one digit, struck counterfeits are known to exist.
