MDS markers
Obverse
Numerous north-south die scratches show on the obverse. Of note is an especially deep one between the 1 and 9 of the date. These die scratches continue through LIBERTY with two of note; one just to the right of the lower part of the T, and another south. Die dent in field east of mouth. Reverse is MDS.
Reverse
A large die break shows on the roof, connected to a deep depression in the field above the right cornice, which extends down column 12 as two die cracks. Numerous northwest-southeast die scratches show all over the lower half of the reverse. Die clash upper bay 8
LDS markers
Obverse
Numerous northeast-southwest die scratches show through most of the central section of the obverse, including the date and mint mark area. The die dent described in MDS is still visible. Reverse is EDS
Reverse
Reverse die changed. A heavy die scratch extends from the upper right of the O in ONE, through the upper left N, across the die to the lower section of the N in CENT. Other die scratches run through ONE CENT which are nearly parallel to the other scratches. Die clash lower bay 3 and upper bay 8

Large date. This variety shows an almost perfect west spread, but it has a rather light secondary punching. It shows only a partial vertical bar and is closer to the 9 in the date than 1960D-1MM-005.
