Obverse
NW-SE die scratches show all over the right half of the design. Concentric die scratches between VDB and rim. Inward spiraling die scratches show in the motto.
Reverse
E/W die scratches through EPU. A die scratch runs SW from the lower right base to the T in CENT. NE/SW die scratches through CENT. A die scratch runs NE from the G in the designer's initials. Reverse is MDS.
MDS markers
Obverse
NW-SE die scratches still show in the date and mintmark areas, but the direction of the die scratches in front of the face have chaged to NE-SW. Inward spiraling die scratches show in the motto.
Reverse
E-W die scratches show all over the reverse. The die scratch that runs south from the lower right base to the T in CENT is worn but still shows. Reverse is LMDS.
