Light to moderate extra thickness (without distortion) on the date with light extra thickness in IB of LIBERTY and RU in TRUST. The specimen examined had light contact marks that might be hindering or exaggerating extra thickness in IB and RU.

Obverse: N-S die scratches through BERTY of LIBERTY; faint old horizontal die scratches through and below WE.

Reverse: Strong N-S die scratches in most bays but strongest in bays 2, 4, 9, 10 & 11; strong mostly horizontal die scratches through EPU with one NE-SW diagonal crossing BUS; many haphazard horizontally orientated die scratches through ONE CENT; a die crack near the lower right memorial corner above the shrubbery.
