Obverse: SW-NE die scratches show in the date. E-W die scratches show in the motto. A heavier die dot shows to the left of the bottom of the first T of TRUST. A notch shows at the bottom of the nose in the hub recarving. Obverse is MDS.

Reverse: Old E-W die scratches show throughout the reverse. Old concentric die scratches show in the ATES of STATES and the ICA of AMERICA. A heavy die clash line of Lincoln's head shows between the wheat stems. N-S die scratches show between the UNIT of UNITED and the CE of CENT.
