What is a repunched mint mark?

An RPM is a die variety where the mint mark punch was impressed more than once in different positions or orientations on the die, leaving a primary mint mark and one or more secondary images.

Do modern cents have traditional RPMs?

Traditional RPMs relate to the historical hand-punching of mint marks into working dies. Do not assume modern machine-applied mint marks create the same class of variety. See year pages and mint-mark style notes for era context.

Is an RPM the same as a mint mark style?

No. Mint mark styles describe punch profiles (for example serif S vs. Clear-S). An RPM is a die variety from multiple impressions of a mint mark on one die.

What about over mint marks (OMMs)?

Over mint marks are cataloged separately (die type OM). They are related mint-mark die varieties and appear alongside RPMs in some CopperCoins searches.
