Obverse: Strong die scratch connects the crossbar of the 4 with the middle of the 2 in the date. Diagonal die scratch below the date going SE. Long curved die scratch along much of the periphery near the rim. Die scratch comes off the N in IN; diagonal die scratch from the inner hook of the G going NW. Later die states show a light die crack across the designer's initials (VDB).

Reverse: Many die scratches, of which several are very long, cascade across much of the reverse. A long die scratch coming SSW from the C in CENT goes through the N in UNITED and into O of OF. Many parallel diagonal die scratches above and through ATES of STATES.
