Class 3 - Design Hub Doubling

Class 3 (design hub doubling). This die was hubbed from two different design hubs. CopperCoins lists it under the design variety shown above — the design variety named first when collectors describe the coin (for example, “small over large” → Small Date). See the nine classes article for how Class 3 differs from a normal doubled die.

Die Notes

A medium spread on 194 of date and the ER of LIBERTY. This variety shows a blunt top 4 over pointed top 4 in date. This die is very similar in appearance to 1949S-1DO-003, except that the mintmark on this die sits slightly higher than on 1949S-1DO-003.
