Die Notes

Known as the D/Horizontal D, the first D was punched horizontally. The bottom portion of that first mintmark can be seen to the west of the secondary mintmark's verticle bar. In addition, the presence of a split upper serif indicates a third CW punching.

Obverse: a series of NE-SW die scratches from the back of the head to the RTY of LIBERTY.

Reverse: Nice X shaped die scratch below the first S of STATES to the E of EPU. 3 NW-SE die scratches below the 2nd T of states. Die cracks and chips on column 12. Reverse is MDS.
